You Can See Ben Stokes and Trent Boult In MI Cape Town Soon

Ben Stokes and Trent Boult have joined MI Cape Town for the third season of the SA20 league, boosting the team with their world-class talent and experience. Both players bring a wealth of international success and will be key assets as MI Cape Town looks to dominate the tournament.

Ben Stokes, England’s Test captain, is returning to Newlands, where he once played one of his most iconic innings—scoring 258 runs off 198 balls against South Africa. Despite currently recovering from a hamstring injury, Stokes is expected to be fully fit ahead of England’s tour of Pakistan in October and ready for the SA20. Stokes has amassed 3,023 runs in 159 T20 matches at a strike rate of 133.23, along with 90 wickets.

Trent Boult, one of the premier left-arm pacers in world cricket, is also joining MI Cape Town. Boult and Stokes share a famous history, including the thrilling 2019 World Cup final. Boult has been an integral part of New Zealand’s success across formats, including their World Test Championship win. He is no stranger to the MI franchise, having previously played for Mumbai Indians and MI New York. In the 2020 IPL, Boult took 25 wickets in 15 matches, helping MI secure the title. Recently, he played a significant role for MI New York, leading them to the Major League Cricket title in 2023 as the tournament's highest wicket-taker.

Boult expressed his excitement at joining MI Cape Town, noting how special it will be to play at the iconic Newlands ground.
