Reports suggest that he may not be selected for the Indian squad in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which will be played after the Indian Premier League 2024. The Board of Control for Cricket in India and the team management are reportedly hesitant to include the veteran player in the team due to his perceived lack of aggression.
Kohli responded fittingly to his doubters by scoring 77 runs off 49 balls against Punjab Kings in IPL 2024. During an interview with Harsha Bhogle, who had criticized the star batter, Kohli stated, 'My name is being used to promote the game in other parts. I think I still have it in me.'
