Badoni showed the best skills at Emerging Asia Cup 2024 vs UAE

Ayush Badoni showcased his incredible fielding skills with a jaw-dropping catch during India A’s dominant 7-wicket victory over the UAE A in the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2024. The 24-year-old made a remarkable leap to his right, grabbing a stunning catch off the bowling of Ramandeep Singh, who secured his second wicket. Badoni’s acrobatics dismissed UAE tailender Jawadullah for just 1 run, as the UAE were bowled out for a mere 107 in 16.5 overs.

India’s bowlers were on fire, with Rasikh Salam leading the attack with an impressive 3/15 in his opening spell. Ramandeep Singh also contributed with figures of 2/7, as the UAE collapsed under pressure. India comfortably chased down the target of 108, with Abhishek Sharma smashing a quick-fire 58 from 24 balls. Badoni sealed the victory with a six and a four, finishing the match with 55 balls to spare.

India A now tops Group B with four points and will face hosts Oman in their final group stage match on Wednesday. Badoni’s exceptional performance in the field adds to his growing reputation, following his record-breaking 165-run knock in a Delhi Premier League match, where he hit 19 sixes. His recent exploits are likely to secure his retention by Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the IPL mega auction.

Reflecting on his batting, Badoni said, "I focus on timing the ball, not hitting it hard," as he looks forward to continuing his form in upcoming competitions.
