Chennai Super Kings have suffered a major setback before their first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 22. As per a report in the Times of India, star bowler Matheesha Pathirana will be out of action for 4-5 weeks due to a hamstring injury.
Pathirana has been absent since he suffered a niggle during the second T20I against Bangladesh.
In CSK's title-winning season in IPL 2023, Pathirana took 19 wickets in 12 matches.
CSK opener Devon Conway is likely to miss the first half of the Indian Premier League. He will undergo thumb surgery. He injured his thumb during the T20I series against New Zealand.
