Gautam Gambhir, a former India opener, has issued a stern warning to his new side, KKR, as he joins them as a mentor for the upcoming season. Gambhir emphasized that the Indian Premier League (IPL) is not merely a platform for entertainment, but rather an opportunity to showcase one's skills.
Gambhir, who recently left Lucknow Super Giants, stated that players should focus solely on cricket and not the glamorous side of the cash-studded league.
Speaking to Star Sports, Gambhir emphasised that he sees the IPL as a serious cricket league. He stated that it is not about Bollywood, parties, or anyone else. In his opinion, the IPL is a platform for competitive cricket and that is what makes it the toughest league in the world.
Gautam Gambhir recently announced his resignation from politics to focus on cricket ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the opportunity to be of service to the people during his time in politics.
