After two consecutive defeats, Chennai Super has returned to winning ways with a victory against Lucknow Super Giants. In their most recent match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the home team emerged victorious by 78 runs, thus securing their fifth win of the season.
Conversely, SRH is experiencing difficulties under pressure and has lost two consecutive games in IPL 2024. Prior to their second encounter with RCB in Hyderabad, the batting unit was performing exceptionally well. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Heinrich Klaasen were dismissed early, and the Pat Cummins-led team was unable to complete the chase.
In the match against Chennai Super Kings, Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl first. This decision proved to be disadvantageous, as the aggressive trio was unable to make a contribution. Former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has labelled Hyderabad the 'chokers' of IPL 2024:
“They are becoming the Chokers of this year’s IPL. Hyderabad cannot handle the pressure, and look what happened with them in the last two games. Once their top-order was dismissed, they couldn’t time their chase.”
