Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian all-rounder, paid a heartfelt tribute to his late mother Lata, crediting his on-field success to her. In a post on Instagram, the veteran player, who recently helped the Men in Blue win the ICC T20 World Cup, expressed, "Whatever I'm doing on the field.. it's a tribute to you." His mother passed away in 2005 while he was establishing himself in age group cricket.
Jadeja announced his retirement from T20 Internationals shortly after winning the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024. Since his T20I debut in 2009, he has played 74 matches, taking 54 wickets and scoring 515 runs at a strike rate of 127.16.
One of his standout performances was in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup against Scotland, where he claimed three wickets for just 15 runs. His impressive batting display against England in 2022, where he scored 46 runs off 29 balls, also deserves a mention.
Jadeja, known for his exceptional all-around skills, has represented India in 343 international matches, scoring 6,307 runs and taking 568 wickets. He played a crucial role in India's triumphs in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and ICC T20 World Cup 2024. At 35 years old, he continues to be a key player for the Men in Blue.
