KL Rahul, the captain of LSG, attributed his team's defeat against the Delhi Capitals to Ravi Bishnoi, who dropped Jake Fraser-McGurk's catch. According to Rahul, this was the turning point of the match, which ended Lucknow's 13-match winning streak at the Ekana Stadium on Friday, April 12.
Despite scoring 160+ runs at home, Lucknow lost to DC by 6 wickets, giving the latter their second win in IPL 2024.
Rahul also acknowledged the contributions of Jake Fraser-McGurk and Rishabh Pant in securing the victory for Delhi.
“We do a lot of work before a game to read the situation and what kind of total is needed if we bat first. It is important to execute all those plans on the field. We managed to dismiss David Warner early and were in the game till the 10th over of their chase. However, we dropped the catch, and then Rishabh-McGurk took the game away from us. We saw a few videos of McGurk, but he hit the ball very well.”
The skipper did not mention the name, but he held Bishnoi responsible for the loss.
Prithvi Shaw (32) and David Warner (8) could not stay at the crease for long, but Pant and Fraser-McGurk struck boundaries to lead their team to a comfortable victory.
Fraser-McGurk scored a half-century and shared a 77-run partnership with Pant, who scored 41 runs off 24 balls.
