Mayank Yadav, the pace sensation who made a blazing start to his IPL 2024 season with the Lucknow Super Giants, has expressed his desire to replicate Jofra Archer's iconic delivery from the 2019 World Cup. Mayank has already picked up six wickets in two matches, consistently bowling over 150 kmph, and his fiery spells have helped Lucknow win both games.
During his interview with Sports Tak, Mayank expressed his aspiration to replicate Archer's iconic delivery against Bangladesh in the 2019 World Cup. The ball knocked over Soumya Sarkar's off stump and sailed over the boundary rope. Mayank aims to recreate the excitement and spectacle of Archer's boundary-crossing wicket delivery:
"Since I was young, coaches have instructed fast bowlers like me to aim for the top of the off-stump. I aspired to bowl a delivery that would strike the top of the off-stump yet still soar over the boundary for six, just as Jofra Archer did in the World Cup. I was sure I could pull off such a remarkable feat, too.”
