Michael Vaughan has declared Mumbai Indians as the winners of IPL 2024

Former England captain Michael Vaughan is well-known among Indian cricket fans for his commentary and tendency to poke fun at enthusiasts. He will be part of a cricket panel on a popular website during IPL 2024.

The renowned batsman will soon travel to Mumbai to provide his opinions on team and player performances, as well as the reasons behind match outcomes.

In the meantime, he has already predicted that one of the franchises will emerge as the winner of the 17th season.

He wrote on X:

“Can’t wait to get over to Mumbai soon .. Btw @mipaltanto won the IPL this year.”

In a previous post, he expressed his desire to see Royal Challengers Bangalore win the IPL, especially after their women's team emerged victorious in WPL 2024.

Mumbai has a new captain, Hardik Pandya, who will be under pressure to match the legacy of Rohit Sharma. Sharma led Mumbai Indians to five titles in the tournament but had to vacate the position for the returning all-rounder after the management deemed Pandya more suitable to captain the team from the new season onwards.

Despite some fans' initial resistance to Panday's arrival from Gujarat Titans, the coaching staff and owners remained steadfast in their decision to bring on Hardik. Rohit has not commented on the captaincy situation, but the new skipper is prepared to seek guidance from his former leader.

It is worth noting that Mumbai's first match is against Gujarat, and Hardik may face taunts and aggressive reactions from fans when he plays at the Narendra Modi Stadium on March 24.
