After a ten-year break, former Indian batsman Navjot Singh Sidhu is returning as a commentator for IPL 2024. Sidhu is eager to resume his broadcasting career and has revealed that he was generously compensated during his previous IPL commentary stint, earning INR 25 lakh per day.
Cricket has always been Sidhu's greatest passion, and he is renowned for his witty remarks. He believes that the 17th season of the IPL will help set the stage for the ICC World Cup 2924.
In an interview with news agency PTI, Sidhu stated that Kohli is the greatest Indian batsman but expressed doubts about Rohit's fitness:
“They’re both excellent players. Regarding Rohit’s level of fitness, I am unsure. As you get older, your reflexes and speed tend to get slower. I noticed that Sehwag’s reflexes were different in the IPL when he wore those glasses. For me, Rohit Sharma is Virender Sehwag with glasses.”
Veteran opener Rohit Sharma has been replaced as captain of Mumbai Indians by Hardik Pandya after 10 years at the helm. This year, the 36-year-old will play as a batsman for Mumbai.
