BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has announced that a new head coach for Team India will be appointed before the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka, starting on July 27.
While the name of the new coach has not been revealed, it is expected that Gautam Gambhir will succeed Rahul Dravid. Gambhir and WV Raman are the finalists for the position after interviews by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC).
The final decisions will be guided by the CAC, with VVS Laxman heading to Zimbabwe and the new coach beginning with the Sri Lanka series. The tour will include a three-match T20I series starting on July 27 and a three-match ODI series starting on August 2.
This will be the first assignment for the new head coach, who will aim to lead India to success in both formats. The change in coaching staff signifies a new era for Indian cricket, with fans eagerly awaiting the official announcement and the start of the Sri Lanka series.
