Probably Ashish Nehra will not be the Gujarat Titans Coach for IPL 2025

According to a report from News18, the Gujarat Titans are expected to part ways with head coach Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki ahead of the IPL 2025 season. Nehra and Solanki have been integral to the franchise since its inception in 2022, during which they clinched the title. The team finished as runners-up in 2023, narrowly losing to the Chennai Super Kings in an exhilarating final.

Yuvraj Singh, the legendary cricketer, is reportedly being considered as a potential replacement for Nehra, although no decision has been finalised yet. There have been no updates regarding changes to the backroom staff at this time.

A source close to the situation stated, “There are many changes on the horizon. Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki are likely to move on, and discussions surrounding Yuvraj Singh have commenced. While nothing is confirmed at this moment, significant changes in the coaching staff of the Gujarat Titans could occur.”

Furthermore, the report indicates that IPL owners are expected to meet with the BCCI on July 30 or 31 to discuss the upcoming mega auction for IPL 2025. Key agenda items for this meeting will include decisions on the number of team retentions, the Impact Player rule, and the budget allocations for each franchise.

In parallel, following his successful tenure as head coach of the Indian team, which led to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, Rahul Dravid is reportedly preparing for a new challenge in the IPL. Since he departed from the national team coaching role, Dravid has been linked to several franchises in the league. Earlier reports suggested he might join the Kolkata Knight Riders, particularly after the exit of their mentor, Gautam Gambhir, who took over the head coach position left vacant by Dravid. However, it has now emerged that Dravid is actively in discussions with his former IPL team, the Rajasthan Royals.
