Rajasthan Royals are one of the contenders for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League [IPL]. They will be led by Sanju Samson, who has a long association with the 2008 champions. RR have shown glimpses of their talent in recent editions, but have faltered in the big games. They reached the final in 2022 but lost to Gujarat Titans.
The Royals suffered a major blow when their star pacer Prasidh Krishna was ruled out of the 2024 IPL.
Krishan recently underwent surgery on his left proximal quadriceps tendon, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced. Medical staff at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru are currently monitoring his progress. He will not be involved in the upcoming season. Prasidh has not yet started his rehabilitation.
He was bought by Rajasthan Royals for ₹10 crore in the 2022 IPL and took 19 wickets. Rajasthan finished runners-up. The right-arm fast bowler missed the 2023 IPL due to injury and has now been ruled out of the new season. He was replaced by Sandeep Sharma last season, but RR haven't named a replacement for IPL 2024.
