Paras Mhambrey, the bowling coach, has expressed confidence in Ravindra Jadeja's ability to bounce back and contribute to India's success in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Despite a less-than-ideal start in the tournament, Jadeja's vast experience and skills are expected to play a crucial role in turning matches in India's favour, according to Mhambrey.
Jadeja, with 15 years of international cricket under his belt, has faced challenges in the initial games of the tournament, remaining wicketless and scoring a golden duck against Pakistan. However, Mhambrey believes that discussions with head coach Rahul Dravid and batting coach Vikram Rathour will assist Jadeja in rediscovering his form.
Acknowledging the ups and downs inherent in a team sport, Mhambrey emphasised the importance of patience and confidence in players like Jadeja and Shivam Dube, who have faced criticism for their recent performances. Despite occasional setbacks, Mhambrey reaffirmed his trust in the team's abilities and their capacity to support each other through the tournament.
With India currently leading the table with 4 points and a positive net run rate, a win in their upcoming game would secure their spot in the playoffs, making them the third team to advance after South Africa and Australia.
