Team India are currently playing England in Rajkot. It is the third match of a five-match Test series. Before the match started, Anil Kumble finally handed Sarfraz Khan his Test debut cap, making it his first international appearance.
His debut for India on the international stage left the Khan family overjoyed. Sarfraz took full advantage of the opportunity and faith shown in him by the captain and management, scoring 62 off 66 deliveries with nine boundaries and a six.
Sarfraz Khan looked set to make his Test debut a memorable one for himself and his family. Unfortunately, he was run out on 62 after a mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja.
The incident happened during James Anderson's over. Jadeja was batting on 99. He attempted to hit one to mid-off and asked for a single.
But England's Mark Wood quickly reached the ball and when Jadeja refused the call, it was too late for Sarfaraz to get back to the crease.
Sarfraz Khan was visibly disappointed after the incident. Not only Sarfaraz, but also India captain Rohit Sharma was seen throwing his cap in frustration.
On the opening day of the third test match, Team India scored 326 runs for the loss of five wickets. India continue on the second day with Ravindra Jadeja (110) and Kuldeep Yadav (1).
Mark Wood was the star bowler for England, picking up three wickets and conceding just 69 runs in his 17 overs.
