Shah Rukh Khan explains why he chose not to purchase a team in the Women's Premier League

During the opening ceremony of the Women's Premier League, Shah Rukh Khan entertained the audience with his witty remarks and humorous interactions with the five franchise captains. He joked with the skippers, bringing smiles to their faces.

While he co-owns Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, he explained that he did not purchase a team in the WPL:

“People ask me why I didn’t buy a team in WPL. Actually, if I had a team in this league, I would have to love 22 players. Right now, all the franchises have a combined strength of 150 players, and they all are mine. I love them. It is time for the queens of cricket to take centre stage, and they will entertain you for a month. So let’s salute them for their talent,”

Other T20 franchises around the world are also co-owned by Shah Rukh Khan. He has a long association with sports and often attends matches of his teams globally.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz will compete for the title.
