Team India’s Karun Nair achieved an unbeaten double hundred, which contributed to his county team, Northamptonshire, achieving a dominant victory against Glamorgan in the Vitality County Championship Division Two.
Despite scoring a triple hundred against England, Nair was not given sufficient opportunities by the management and selectors. He was overlooked by the decision-makers of Indian cricket. He does not have an IPL contract and has chosen to play in England. This is his second stint with the county club.
He accumulated 202 not out from 253 balls as his side declared the innings on a score of 605 for 6, with a first-innings lead of 334. Nair formed a sixth-wicket partnership of 212 with Saif Zaib, who registered his first century of the new season. Ricardo Vasconcelos also contributed 182 runs to the side's total.
In 100 first-class matches, Karun has accumulated 6962 runs at an average of 48.34. He has achieved 18 centuries and 32 fifties.
Meanwhile, the right-handed batter has scored 374 runs in 6 Tests for India. His average in this most extended format is 62.33.
Additionally, Nair participated in two One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for the Indian cricket team, contributing 46 runs at an average of 23 runs per innings.
