India is one of the favourites for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Rohit Sharma will lead the men in blue, with Hardik Pandya taking on the responsibility of vice-captain. However, both are out of form and their performances have affected Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2024.
Apart from a hundred, Rohit has failed to make an impact for the five-time champions. The franchise didn't do justice to his years of hard work, dedication, and commitment when the management decided to use him as an impact sub in the last two matches. In 13 matches, Sharma has scored 349 runs at an average of 29.08.
Hardik, who is leading Mumbai for the first time, has been found wanting as an all-rounder. He has scored 200 runs in 13 matches without a half-century. Pandya has taken 11 wickets at an average of 32.72 and an economy rate of 10.58.
Former India player Irfan Pathan has issued a warning to India ahead of the global tournament in the West Indies and USA. He wrote about the two-star players on social media:
“Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma’s form is a big worry for Mumbai and Indians. You hope that they come back to form quickly.”
